UK: Bird Group’s hospitality arm, Roseate Hotels & Resorts, has acquired five-star The Dunstane Houses in Edinburgh.
The property, which is set across two recently refurbished Victorian townhouses, offers 35 guest rooms and suites, a bar and restaurant, lounge, garden conservatory and private gardens.
Whilst the transaction value has not been disclosed, Dunstane Houses were marketed by Savills Scotland at a guide price of £7.5 million.
Steven Fyfe, associate director in the hotels agency at Savills Scotland, said: “The Dunstane Houses is a prime investment opportunity that presented a luxury boutique hotel recognised as one of the finest in Edinburgh with significant potential for ongoing success.
“Edinburgh continues to outperform as a tourist and business destination that maintains a buoyant hotels market and we expect these robust fundamentals to support further transactions. Furthermore, the recent openings of the Gleneagles Townhouse and Virgin Hotel, as well as the upcoming entrants of the W Hotel and Roomzzz at St James Quarter will bolster the city’s hotels product and broaden the appeal of the city to travellers.”
A spokesperson from Roseate Hotels & Resorts said: “Edinburgh is a renowned tourist and business destination for guests from across the globe. We are delighted to expand our footprint beyond London, Reading and Bath to Scotland, adding to our spectacular collection of boutique hotels in the United Kingdom. Roseate Hotels & Resorts is committed to offer an outstanding stay and dining experience to its guests and look forward to contributing meaningfully to the vast repertoire of tourism in Scotland.”
Roseate is a collection of seven luxury hotels across the UK and India, with more under development. The group is a brand of Bird Hospitality (Bird Group, India).
