UK: Selina Camden and its debut restaurant concept Powerplant will officially open on May 17.
The 30-room hotel offers a range of accommodations, including a corner suite, a loft room, a family room, and a terrace suite. Dorm rooms will also be available. The hotel lobby will offer a workspace for guests, an event space with seating and screens, and a retail shop selling products from local brands.
Powerplant, the first outpost of Selina’s new restaurant brand, will serve a range of plant-based dishes. The restaurant will expand globally, with future openings in Washington DC and Lisbon.
At every location, Powerplant will team up with local chefs. Harj Ram has been appointed head chef of the Camden location by Powerplant creator and VP of global brands and creative at Selina, Ariel Levinsohn, and executive chef Moran Etedgi.
Levinsohn said: “Apart from the obvious environmental impact and health benefits of a plant-based diet, what Powerplant aims to show is that a plant-based culinary experience is as exciting as any non-plant-based restaurant and more. Combined with specially curated fun and alternative cultural programming from London’s creatives, we are very excited to bring this concept to life in Camden and later this year to Europe and the US.”

Selina was founded in Latin America in 2015. Each property is designed in partnership with local artists, creator, and tastemakers. Selina currently operates 80 plus locations throughout Latin America, the USA, and Europe.
