UK: A former Birmingham nightclub is set to be turned into a boutique hotel
Former Birmingham nightclub Snobs is set to be turned into a boutique hotel if a new planning application gets the green light.
Plans have been revealed to convert the Beneficial Building, the former home of Snobs, to create a 130-key hotel with ground floor retail and commercial units. The building has been vacant for several years.
Built between 1959 and 1962, the building was the first pre-cast concrete structure in Birmingham. The building’s previous owners went into administration in 2008. Several ideas have been floated for the future of the building, including apart-hotel rooms and commercial units.
No hotel operator has been named in the submitted planning application.
