UK: The 14-room Cormorant hotel near Fowey, in Cornwall, is on the market.

The property has a guide price of £1.5 million, and is being sold as the current owner is looking to retire.

The hotel is located on the River Fowey, two miles from the town of Fowey. All bedrooms, public areas and the two-AA-rosette restaurant have river or estuary views. Alongside the restaurant is a lounge with seating for 20, a cocktail bar, and a separate building housing a swimming pool and jacuzzi with external sun deck.

The hotel offers significant development opportunities for extension, conversion to holiday apartments, and redevelopment to residential use subject to planning consent.

Martin Rogers, head of UK hotel transactions at Savills, which is handling the sale, said: “The Cormorant hotel’s location is exceptional, with the property geared towards making the most of the views across the estuary. The current owner has run the business very successfully for the last nine years and now wishes to retire. The property has great potential for development in the future.”
