UK: The five-star boutique hotel owned by Rami Fustok will introduce a one month comprehensive staff health and fitness program in the run up to the hotel’s reopening on 1 May 2021.
The four-week physical and spiritual program will run throughout March every day from Monday to Friday, steamed via Zoom.
It will include HIIT classes, restorative yoga classes, sound baths and meditations, as well as one-to-one therapy sessions with Me, Myself in Mind, which designs stress reduction workshops specifically for the hospitality industry, and Business Mental Wellbeing, which provides corporate wellbeing coaching.
HIIT classes (high intensity interval training) will be led by James Danderson, with each week progressing in the volume of reps and intensity.
Meditation will be guided by Nina Thistlewaite, and Rebecca Moore will teach yoga. Urmi Sound, a duo formed by Daniel Lewis Lallana and Jospeh Evling-Taylor, will offer sound baths, and Andrea Arare will lead shamanic healing sessions.
Mikail Goek, managing director at The Mandrake, commented: “Wellbeing and balance has always been at the heart of The Mandrake for all our guests, so it only makes sense that the team we rely on are also given the same level of care – especially after such a traumatic year. With so much stress and concern in daily life, we’ve created a program with a team of therapists and teachers hoping to instigate physical, emotional and mental wellbeing so that our most valuable assets, our people, are ready to take on our spring rebirth! It’s wonderful to share the same values with the owner Rami Fustok, and I’m delighted to lead in such a positive way.”
