The Park Hotels to ban plastic straws

India: The Park Hotels has joined the worldwide campaign to eliminate plastic drinking straws from landfills, streams, oceans, and beaches.

The company has pledged to give up the use of plastic straws and start the process of replacing these with paper straws on World Environment Day – 5 June, 2018.

Talking about the initiative, Vijay Dewan, managing director, Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels said: “The Park Hotels continue its commitment to the environment and sustainability at every hotel. This World Environment Day, we take a step further and become a part of the movement to eliminate plastic pollution from the source. The visibility of plastic waste is increasingly alarming, especially in travel and hospitality sector; such a simple action will not only save on overheads; it will have incredibly positive and far reaching effects on our planet.”
