THE PIG-at Harlyn Bay to open in May

UK: THE PIG-at Harlyn Bay, Cornwall, is set to open in early May and will be taking reservations from 11 February.

Housed in a 16th century Cornwall building, the Grade II-listed mansion has sea views from the first floor and sits within five acres of gardens.

Within the hotel is a lounge named the Map Room, a bar, main restaurant, private dining room, and a snug that sits opposite the wine store.

Comprising 11 bedrooms, some with freestanding bath tubs, there’s an additional 15 rooms in Stonehouse – a separate building to the left of the main house.

Four Shepherd’s Huts can also be found on the way to the kitchen garden. Everything grown within the garden will be used to dictate the style of the seasonal menu.

As part of the food offerings, The Lobster Shed serves as the hotel’s separate alfresco dining area in the garden. Its grill and wood oven will be housed in a shed made from reclaimed materials, serving local simple seafood as well as flat breads and drinks.

Owner, Robin Huston, said of the property: “This is amongst the very best coastal settings anywhere in Cornwall with immediate access to a beautiful and immensely sought after part of the North Cornish coastline with some of the county’s most celebrated beaches a stone’s throw from the hotel.”

THE PIG group is a collection of small lifestlye restaurants with rooms in the UK. The PIG at Harlyn Bay will join six others: THE PIG, THE PIG-near Bath, THE PIG-on the beach, THE PIG-at Combe, THE PIG-in the wall, and THE PIG-at Bridge Place.
