The Runnymede on Thames relaunches The Lounge

UK: Located on the banks of the Thames, Surrey, the four-star hotel has announced the relaunch of its riverside Lounge following a £350,000 renovation.

Designed by Jenny Anderson, director of London-based agency Kinnersley Kent Design, The Lounge reflects an extension of the river with blues and rusty oranges incorporated into the colour palette.

The variety of seating provided caters to all guests – from sofas and armchairs to dining and remote working ares with bar tables and stools.

Visiting business guests are now able too book specific areas to host informal meetings and catch up with colleagues.

A freestanding central fireplace is complemented by a commissioned piece of artwork from Stephanie Ho.

The venue will offer new food and drink options that reflect modern trends. The menu offers light food items such as salads and sandwiches, along with smoothies, kombucha, and a selection of non-alcoholic drinks.

A partnership with SWIG wines will allow guests at Runnymede to taste wines from small, artisanal wineries, and wine pairing lunches will be held in Runnymede’s Lock Bar & Kitchen in spring.

Sue Wolton, general manager at The Runnymede on Thames Hotel and Spa, said: “We’re delighted to launch our stylish new Lounge concept at The Runnymede on Thames, ensuring we continue to offer our guests a thoroughly modern experience with a relaxed atmosphere, reflective of our independent spirit.”

The Runnymede on Thames Hotel and Spa comprises 180 rooms, two riverside restaurants, 14 meeting rooms, an award-winning spa, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and landscaped gardens.
