Germany: The 102-room luxury boutique hotel The Wellem has opened in the Andreas Quarter of Düsseldorf, joining The Unbound Collection by Hyatt.
The opening marks the first property under The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand in German-speaking markets, and the seventh property to join the independent collection in Europe.
It features a contemporary artwork throughout the property and in the guest rooms, including works from international artists such as Jeff Koons, HA Schult, and Julian. Schnabel.
Guests also have access to the hotel’s private art concierge who can introduce guests to on-property artwork as well as offer tours through nearby museums and art galleries.
The hotel building was originally a courthouse, constructed in 1913. The design is said to connect guests to both the historic and modern side of Düsseldorf.
Each guest room comes complete with Bluetooth speakers and SuitePads, with separate sleeping and living sections. The fifth-floor art suites offer access to the rooftop terrace.
Other amenities include three restaurants serving German cuisine or Mediterranean dishes.
