Villa Florence relaunches as The Barnes

US: Villa Florence, located in San Francisco at Union Square, has rebranded as The Barnes following a renovation.

Housed inside a classic building along Powell Street, The Barnes’ name and identity stems from Old English and means “young warrior”.

The hotel offers 189 rooms, a restaurant and bar, 24 hour gym and meeting and event space. It is owned bay affiliates of The Roxborough Group and AWH Partners, and is managed by Spire Hospitality.

Richard Sandoval, VP operations at Spire, said: “Once our guests cross the threshold, the hospitality is urbane and eclectic, a mirror of its city surroundings. Just outside, the city invites adventures and urban enthusiasts to explore the world-famous culture that is San Francisco. The allure lies in making everyone feel right at home. We’ll be here, to take your coat, shake your cocktail and stir your soul.”

Spire Hospitality, led by CEO Chris Russell, operates 7,033 rooms across 31 hotels and resorts. Properties in the portfolio include the Leta in San Diego, Topnotch Resort in Stowe, Vermont, and High Peaks Resort in Lake Placid, New York, amongst others.

AWH Partners is a privately held, vertically integrated real estate investment, development, and management firm that has invested in over 10,000 hotel rooms across 35 hotels. AWH also owns Spire Hospitality.
