UK: Mars Enterprise and Hospitality, which operates two of the three hotels in the Black Sheep Hotels group, has called in administrators after failing to pay more than £3 million to construction company Douglas & Stewart.
According to documents filed on Companies House, the business entered administration on March 18. Donald McNaught and Matt Henderson of Johnston Carmichael LLP have been appointed joint administrators.
Sanjay and Rachna Narang launched the Black Sheep Hotels group last year in the Scottish Highlands. The portfolio comprises Rokeby Manor at Invergarry, The Cluanie Inn at Glenmoriston, and the Whispering Pine Lodge in Spean Bridge.
£3 million was spent acquiring the properties in 2018, with a further £9 million going towards refurbishment.
The Whispering Pine Lodge and and The Cluanie Inn will continue under the administration, although both sites are currently closed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Rokeby Manor is unaffected by the administration as it is owned by a separate entity.
