Spain: The Derby Hotels Collection has acquired London’s Caesar Hotel and The Banke in Paris.
It acquired the properties by buying the Metrópolis equity group’s 50 per cent holding in the hotels, giving Derby 100 per cent ownership.
Derby Hotels Collection operates 20 properties under the chairmanship of Jordi Clos, including its flagship hotels in Spain, the Claris in Barcelona and the Urban in Madrid. Founded in 1968, the companies says its hotels are “unique and original, combining art, culture and luxury. Each hotel contains a unique collection of ancient and modern works of art. They are all different and unrepeatable, providing a new and surprising experience”.
Metrópolis will focus on the European office sector through its subsidiary Metroinvest.
