The DACH advisory board will support the association’s membership and the hospitality, event and travel industries in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

In addition, the board will work closely with SHL Schweizerische Hotelfachschule Luzern and EHL Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne. The aim is to build stronger connections with the undergraduate and post-graduate community to attract new talent to the industry and create new employment opportunities.

Application criteria for the HSMAI DACH advisory board includes:

• Applicants must be living and operating in either Germany, Austria or Switzerland

• Have a background in senior management, marketing or academia within the hospitality industry

• Passionate about supporting other hospitality brands’ growth and business recovery in the DACH region

Andreas Kohn, newly appointed chair of HSMAI Europe DACH Advisory Board, said: “Together with the HSMAI Region Europe team, I am looking forward to supporting the membership to ensure that as an industry we unite, share knowledge and valuable insights in our region. HSMAI provides ideal platforms, forums and working groups, which serve as a think-tank on how to manoeuvre through today’s challenges.”

Ingunn Hofseth, president and CEO, HSMAI Europe, said: “Andreas’s contribution as the region’s chair, along with the new DACH advisory board, will be a great source of support and guidance for members, not only for strategic and revenue management insights but offering businesses new avenues to recruit talent and networking events aimed to boost the pipeline of new business.

“Even through the pandemic, the hospitality industry in the DACH region has shown great determination and resilience to keep going.  2022 promises to be a year for a green shoots’ recovery. Once travel restrictions lift, whether it’s for business, leisure or “bleisure”, we will want to meet, connect and explore new destinations and cultures.  This is an exciting time for the hospitality, event and travel professionals in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to capitalise on opportunities.”
