Iconic London boutique hotel to be converted to residential use

UK: The Hempel Hotel in London has been bought by commercial developer British Land and is to be converted in to a residential scheme.

The Hempel, one of London’s first and most recognizable boutique hotels, was sold for £33 million. It’s minimalist style was the trademark of former owner and creator Anouska Hempel. It is next door to to an existing British Land site – together they will create a potential £125 million residential development scheme.
