Mandeville Hotel launches new restaurant and bar

UK: The Mandeville Hotel, a boutique property in London’s Marylebone, has opened its Reform Social and Grill.

The aim of the restaurant is to “bring a quintessentially British experience to the popular London hotel”.

With a dedicated entrance on Marylebone‘s Thayer Street, the restaurant and bar are open to neighbourhood residents and shoppers as well as hotel guests. The restaurant serves breakfast, weekend brunch, lunch and afternoon tea as well as dinner.

The owners say they have taken inspiration from classic British gentlemen’s clubs for both the restaurant’s interior design and food and drink menus.

The all day dining menu features “the finest ingredients sourced from around the British Isles”. Starters include a Pheasant Scotch Egg, Mrs Kirkham’s cheese and onion tart, and salads such as Salt Baked Beetroot with Easter Egg radish and Golden Cross goat’s cheese.

Main courses will include plaice served with Morecambe Bay shrimp and parsley butter, double cut Porterhouse with smoked bone marrow for two, lamb cutlets Reform served with wild garlic and a fisherman’s pie with Cornish pollack, scallops and Waterloo cheese.

Desserts include Yorkshire rhubarb fool with ginger and thyme shortbread and Eccles cakes with Lancashire ‘black bomb’.
