Spain: The co-founders of Nobu Hospitality, Robert De Niro, Nobu Matsuhisa and Meir Teper joined Jordi Mestre of Selenta Group to view mock up designs of Nobu Hotel Barcelona.
Used as the main inspiration behind the design of the hotel is the Japanese art form of Kintsugi. Comparable to Gaudi’s work throughout Barcelona, the interior sees traditional Japanese broken pottery applied to the walls and ceiling. Designed by architects Rockwell Group, Nobu Hotel Barcelona “seamlessly blends the Nobu signature standard with the dynamic character of this vibrant city”.
Nobu Hotel Barcelona, which is set to open in March 2019, will be the fourth European hotel and third Spanish property in the brand’s portfolio, and will offer 244 rooms, including 43 suites, meeting rooms, event spaces and a Nobu restaurant on the 23rd floor, with panoramic views of the city.
Nobu Hotel Barcelona strengthens the expansion of Nobu Hospitality and Selenta Group.
Established in Barcelona in 1976, Selenta Group has over four decades of experience in luxury hospitality. With accommodation offerings in destinations across Spain, the group is continuing to showcase its expertise in leisure management. Nobu Hotel Barcelona will continue to be part of the Selenta Group Collection, under a long-term management contract with Nobu Hotels.
