UK: ÖÖD Mirror House, which develops prefabricated mirrored cabins, has appointed Savills to source locations across the UK.
The ÖÖD concept has been created by Estonian siblings Andreas and Jaak Tiikhis. Each module is built with external mirrors to reflect the environment in which it sits and offer various internal designs. For example, modules can include hotel-like rooms with living space, a bathroom and kitchenette. Others can include a sauna or office space.
Modules can be constructed in less than eight hours and arrive on site already built. Currently there are 200 ÖÖD Mirror Houses in over 20 countries including Norway, Africa and the US. Now the company is looking to expand in the UK.
Robin Böhringer, chairman of ÖÖD said: “ÖÖD is on a mission to create and curate a global portfolio of Mirror Houses which blend in beautifully with nature and let travellers have a unique experience wherever they are located. Our Mirror Houses only look as good as their environment and the UK, with its diverse nature and landscape, offers plenty of locations for our Mirror Houses to look amazing.
“Savills has been a great partner for us to find beautiful locations and charming hospitality partners who operate our houses locally in the UK, and we are excited to expand our portfolio in the UK with Savills help.”
Adam Davies, Savills’ leisure, tourism and events consultant, said: “I have never seen anything quite as visually attractive, creative or practical within the realm of holiday accommodation. ÖÖD Mirror houses embody all the elements that modern travellers are looking for in terms of awe-inspiring tourism: they’re fantastic for slow adventure and experiential travel, both of which are very much on trend.”
