Worldwide: Two new build superyachts, Ilma and Luminara, are slated to set sail in 2024 and 2025 respectively as part of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection.

The yachts are being constructed in partnership with Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Sant-Nazaire, France. The firm will carry out all production and development, with additional vessels potentially in the pipeline.

Interiors will be overseen by London-based architect and design firm AD Associates and lighting designer DPA. Avian, a Finland-based yacht stylist, has created the exterior look.

Each boat will come with 228 suites with private terraces, a selection of which will be larger suites, alongside two new upper suite categories measuring 1,076 square-feet.

Amenities on board will include five restaurants, six bars, and a wine vault.

The announcement comes as The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection preparers to launch its first superyacht, Evrima, this summer.

Douglas Prothero, chief executive officer for The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, said: “We are thrilled to work with Chantiers de l’Atlantique on the development of our second and third superyachts, Ilma and Luminara. They are a likeminded organisation that is committed to excellence and a custom quality process and program that will help execute our vision as we thoughtfully expand our portfolio.”

Laurent Castaing, general manager of Chantiers de l’Atlantique, said: “Chantiers de l’Atlantique is very proud to design and build these medium size – ultra luxury cruise vessels and initiate a new partnership with The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. These ships will provide the highest quality standards and comfort level to their guests and simultaneously be at the forefront of environmental performance.”

Tim Grisius, global officer for M&A, business development and real estate at Marriott International, said: “The addition of Ilma and Luminara represent significant growth for The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, and we look forward to collaborating with management and Chantiers de l’Atlantique on the creation of these world class vessels.”

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection joined Marriott Bonvoy in November 2021. Oaktree Capital Management provided the funds to manage the initial project.

Karim Khairallah, managing director and co-portfolio manager at Oaktree, said: “The next generation of superyachts for The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection will have a real impact in the industry and take our shared vision with management and Marriott International to the next level in the luxury cruise market.”

Reservations for the 2024 season of itineraries will open to the public this autumn. Ilma and Luminara will feature itineraries ranging from seven to 10 nights in the Caribbean and Mediterranean and offer an all-inclusive experience.
