Indonesia: Ubud Hanging Gardens, one of Bali’s leading boutique hotels, has announced it will be managed independently, leaving the orient-express Hotels collection.
PT Buahan, the hotel’s owners, say the move will allow them “to introduce a bespoke luxury service to a market driven by unique experiences”.
Formerly known as Ubud Hanging Gardens by Orient Express, the hotel will be renamed Hanging Gardens Ubud a move the owners say will “extend and develop the hotel’s impeccable Balinese service and focus on the philosophy of understated luxury and privacy”.
The rainforest property has 38 suites and villas. Incoming GM, John Berndt said: “I am eager to provide the leadership supporting the suburb staff employed from within our local village, complementing their charming and gracious Balinese service. This property is set to lead the way in defining the boutique hotel experience in Bali.”
