US: YOO Hotels and OPUS launch 10-year North America partnership.
YOO Hotels and Resorts and Canada’s Opus Hotel Corporation have announced a 10-year expansion plan and brand partnership to develop OPUS by YOO Collection and OPUS by yoo2 hotels across Canada, Mexico, and select U.S. markets.
The partnership will enable the boutique hoteliers to development, repositioning, and management opportunities in key North American destinations. The deal also involves an exclusivity agreement for Opus Hotel Corporation in the Canadian and Mexican markets.
UK-based YOO Hotels and Resorts was co-founded by designer Philippe Starck and property entrepreneur John Hitchcox 15 years ago. The YOO Collection utilises the expertise of the YOO Design Studio to create aspirational properties in prime destinations worldwide. The yoo2 brand offers a boutique lifestyle hotel concept, with a focus on reflecting local details in the design of properties.
John Hitchcox, C.E.O and co-founder of the YOO Group said: “The partnership between YOO Hotels and Resorts and OPUS Hotels has created the perfect platform for growth and operational excellence of the OPUS by YOO brand across Canada, Mexico and selected markets in the US. This expansion in key markets will ensure even more travellers can experience our unique designs and guest experiences. We look forward to developing this strategic partnership with OPUS Hotels and continue our growth journey.”
OPUS was founded in 2002 in response to growing demand for intimate, lifestyle-oriented hotels. Opus Hotels has received widespread attention for its boutique properties worldwide.
The first OPUS by YOO Collection hotel, the 110-key Versante, will open in early 2019 in Vancouver. Other OPUS by YOO destination properties are planned for Canada and Mexico’s Pacific West Coast.
