US: The Chambers Hotel New York has reopened as an independent boutique hotel following a brief period operating as a Sonder property.
The 77-room hotel on West 56th Street in Midtown Manhattan is situated near Fifth Avenue, Central Park, Rockefeller Center and some of the city’s museums and theatres.
The property was originally designed by the Rockwell Group, and provides a variety of accommodation including a two-level duplex penthouse and studio double rooms. Guest rooms have high-speed internet and modern technology, with a private terrace or Juliette balcony.
The hotel has direct access to Felice 56, an independent Italian restaurant and bar on the ground floor. The restaurant serves Tuscan-inspired dishes, including house-made pasta, pastries, espresso and a selection of Italian wines.
Aida Figueroa, the general manager of The Chambers Hotel, said: “Stepping into independence represents a thoughtful evolution for The Chambers Hotel, allowing us to fully embrace the property’s unique identity, stunning design, and exceptional location.”
The reopening marks a new chapter for the Midtown Manhattan hotel as it returns to operating independently while continuing to welcome business and leisure travellers visiting New York City.
