US: The Camden Harbour Inn, a boutique hotel in Camden, Maine, has joined the Relais & Chateaux portfolio.

Following the Inn’s 2007 purchase, along with its restaurant Natalie’s, by Raymond Brunyanszki and Oscar Verest, it underwent a $2 million renovation which included the addition of two new suites in 2012.

“We’re incredibly proud to be included as a Relais & Chateaux property,” said Raymond Brunyanszki. “We have been focused on creating unique and rewarding experiences for our guests since we opened our doors, and it is a great honour to be recognised for our hard work and dedication to the industry.”

Brenda Homick, director of member services North America, Relais & Chateaux, said: “At Relais & Chateaux, we have always been differentiated by the discriminating standards to which we firmly adhere.  Each of our properties exhibits culinary excellence, exceptional and personalised service, and as well, a unique character which is reflective of the region. We are pleased to add the Camden Harbour Inn and Natalie’s to this distinguished group.”

Established in 1954 by a small group of luxury hoteliers and restaurant owners in France, Relais & Chateaux has 515 properties worldwide. To become a Relais & Chateaux property, hotels must have the equivalent of a four- or five- star rating and be focused on exceeding guest expectations. The hotel must contain a high quality gourmet restaurant with a focus on local cuisine.
