US: Private equity real estate investment firm South Street Partners, in collaboration with Dallas-based hospitality developer WoodHouse, has opened reservations for Beckwith Residences, in Colorado.

Located at the base of Mt. Crested Butte, the ski-in, ski-out residential site is part of a broader redevelopment of Elevation Hotel & Spa, which will be renamed The Beckwith-Crested Butte.

The project represents the first opportunity for private ownership at the mountain’s base.

Roughly 40 per cent of units have been reserved within the first week of release.

The redevelopment will begin in 2026 and is scheduled for completion in time for the 2026/27 ski season.

The Beckwith is named after Captain Edward Beckwith, who played a key role in the 1853 Gunnison-Beckwith Expedition. The redesign aims to reflect Crested Butte’s mining history and natural setting, with Denver’s 4240 Architecture leading the exterior renovation and interiors designed by FAM Design.

The full renovation includes updates to the hotel’s exterior, rooms, restaurants, spa, pool deck, and meeting spaces. New amenities will feature a concierge, ski valet, and retail offerings.

Beckwith Residences will include approximately 49 units with one- to four-bedroom floorplans. Prices start at $1.6 million (£1.25 million).

Residences will feature balconies, fireplaces, mountain views, gourmet kitchens, and mudrooms. Interior design by R&L Design Co. will incorporate natural materials and colours inspired by the surrounding landscape.

Owners will have the option to join Club Beck, a private mountain and social club offering ski lockers, valet parking, dining, concierge services, and a hot tub terrace.

Patrick Melton, managing partner, at South Street Partners said: “The launch of reservations for Beckwith Residences presents an incredibly unique ownership opportunity at the base of Crested Butte Mountain. We are excited to present this offering, alongside the reimagining of Crested Butte’s only ski-in/ski-out hotel, as it perfectly aligns with our mission of maintaining what makes the property so special while enhancing it with new amenities and these exceptional residences.”
