UK: Business property adviser Christie & Co has been instructed to market the freehold of The Hideaway at Windermere for an asking price of £1.5 million.
The Hideaway at Windermere is located off a main route into the Lake District National Park.
It features 11 bedrooms, a lounge area, bar and dining room, along with a car park, surrounding garden, and three-bedroom owner’s accommodation.
Planning consent has also been secured to operate the property as a self-contained single-unit holiday let.
Richard and Lisa Gornall, who have owned the hotel since 1991, are looking to sell due to retirement. They said: “As the second generation, we have continued to cherish this beautiful house, carefully curating and adapting to meet the needs of modern travellers. Many guests have been staying with us since the beginning, and we are so grateful for their support. Now in our 22nd season, our passion continues but it’s time to hand over the baton and explore the next phase.”
Graham Wilkinson, senior business agent – hotels, Christie & Co, said: “Opportunities of this quality and scale in Windermere are rare. The Hideaway offers a compelling combination of boutique guest accommodation, excellent accessibility, and generous owner’s living space, making it an ideal lifestyle business within the Lake District National Park, with clear options for further growth.”
