Italy: Opening on 8 September, the 25hours Hotel Piazza San Paolino in Florence marks the brand’s first foray into the Italian market.

Located in the Santa Maria Novella, the hotel is housed in the former premises of Monte de ‘Pegni – the lending company of the Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze – and still houses the original 66 rooms in the monastery.

An additional 104 guest rooms with balconies were built in a new annexe, as well as the Casetta del Giardino, a small apartment with a private garden and pool. In total, this brings the hotel to 171 keys.

The interiors, inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy, were overseen by Milan-based Paola Navone and her team.

At the centre of the hotel, underneath a glass dome, is Restaurant San Paolino serving classic Italian cuisine. The menu will change seasonally, and a few dishes from Navone’s personal recipe collection is featured.

Close by the restaurant is a green courtyard garden, a classic Negroni bar, and a typical alimentari – a grocery store selling paninis, sandwiches and salads along with a traditional-style wine shop. The range was curated by S. Forno, a local bakery.

The Companion Bar at the hotel will also feature a ‘hole in the wall’ to serve guests drinks on the pavement in front of the venue.

The 25hours Hotel Company currently operates 12 properties. Other upcoming openings in 2021 include 25hours Hotel One Central in Dubai.
