US: Bunkhouse will now operate the Shady Villa Hotel in Solado, Texas, following light renovations to the rooms and public areas.
Originally built as a motel in the 1950s, the Shady Villa Hotel (formerly the Stagecoach Inn) is a 48-bedroom property featuring six buildings spread across seven acres.
It is home to the Stagecoach Restaurant, housed in one of the oldest buildings in Texas which dates back to 1861. Other amenities include a bar, multiple event spaces, a swimming pool and pavilion.
The renovations of the property were led by architectural firm Clayton Korte. Updated art from Austin photographer Nick Simonite has been used throughout, and the lobby has a new front desk and curated lobby shop.
Outdoor, a pavilion games area has been introduced with ping pong, darts, and other entertainment available. Cultural programming includes live music, a swim club and local partnerships.
Earlier this year, Bunkhouse also acquired the management of the Carpenter Hotel in Austin. It brings the group’s hotel portfolio up to 10.
Standard International, the operator of Standard Hotels, bought a majority stake in Bunkhouse in 2015. The group was founded in 2006 by hotelier Liz Lambert.
