CBRE markets The Douglas Hotel in Scotland

CBRE Douglas Hotel

Scotland: The four-star Douglas Hotel, located on the Isle of Arran, is being marketed by commercial real estate agent CBRE at a guide price of £2.9 million.

The Douglas Hotel offers 21 bedrooms, a 50-cover restaurant, and a bar, lounge and outdoor terrace. The Snug, situated adjacent to the bar, is an area used for small gatherings, private dining and meetings.

Included with the hotel is staff accommodation The Bunkhouse.

The hotel is housed in an original two-and-a-half storey residence which was built in 1782. It later became the local doctor’s home and medical practice up until 1852 when it was converted into a hotel.

The property has undergone an £8 million refurbishment under the current owners.

Also available for sale separately is The Shorehouse, featuring 13 self-catering apartments, a reception and a lounge area.

Kathryn Bennett of CBRE, who is handling the sale, said: “This is an incredible opportunity to secure a beautiful hotel on a prime 1.8 acre site on one of Scotland’s most loved holiday islands, which attracts 400,000 visitors a year.

“The hotel is highly rated by guests, many who return year after year, and the bar and restaurant are very popular with both hotel guests and non-staying guests, accounting for more than 60 per cent of the annual turnover of £2.3 million.”
