Mexico: Drift, the second brand from TMC Hospitality, has launched with a hotel in San José del Cabo.
The hotel features 29 bedrooms and suites, a courtyard pool, mezcal bar and rooftop terrace.
Some of the rooms will include balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows, along with custom scented bath amenities featuring soap from local brand Santo Cabo. Organic textiles have also been sourced from nearby suppliers.
Room types span the Surfer’s Hideout, Baja Room, Drift King and Paradise Cove Suite.
The alfresco Mezcal Bar, located beside the pool, will serve Mezcal Exiliado produced by Artemio Garcia in the state of Oaxaca using traditional methods. The drinks menu will offer a variety of beers and mezcal cocktails, and guests will receive a complimentary shot of mezcal on arrival.
A taco truck headed by Marcela Sanchez will operate on site on Thursday evenings. The courtyard will also host live music for both locals and hotel guests.
Other complimentary activities for guests include yoga and morning Chemex coffee served between 8-10am daily.
Philip Bates, cofounder and CEO of TMC Hospitality said: “We’re thrilled to open the first Drift Hotels property in the charming city of San José del Cabo. With a prime location in the heart of town, the hotel is a welcoming retreat that reflects the vibrancy of its surroundings. We look forward to bringing this same adventuresome spirit to additional markets in 2022 as we continue to expand the Drift Hotels footprint across North America.”
Planned locations for the Drift Hotels brand include Santa Barbara, California and Nashville next year.
