UK: June 18 sees the opening of London’s Dorset Square Hotel, the latest property in the Firmdale portfolio.
The opening sees the squaring of a circle for Tim and Kit Kemp, the husband and wife team behind Firmdale – the property, an elegant townhouse on a Marylebone garden square was originally purchased by the couple in 1985. It was their boutique hotel but was later sold to fund other projects.
The Kemps have since reacquired Dorset Square Hotel, which has undergone extensive refurbishment. Its 38 rooms have undergone a trademark Kit Kemp makeover featuring bold colours, contrasting fabrics, and one-off artworks and furnishings. Each room features a marble and oak bathroom with freestanding showers.
The Potting Shed bar and restaurant will also reopen following a renovation. It will feature an English brasserie style cuisine using locally sourced and seasonal produce.
