Maldives: The boutique 50-villa property, in the Maldives’ North Male Atoll, will open in the summer of 2020 as a 360 degree wellness experience.
Kagi has partnered with architect Yuji Yamazaki on the design the resort, which at the centre sits a 1500 square metre spa and wellness hub, complete with an open-air teardrop shaped floating yoga pavilion.
Yamazaki is the renowned name behind the world’s first underwater hotel – Conrad Maldives.
The Baani Spa consists of four treatment rooms with outdoor bathing facilities, a relaxation lounge, beauty salon, yoga and sound-healing studio, and steam rooms. The spa offers a personalised wellness programme too.
A variety of watersport activities are also available, including day-and-night snorkelling, scuba diving, catamaran and sailing boatt trips, plus more.
Other facilities include a gym, two restaurants, three bars, a dive centre and a house reef.
The types of accommodation comprise the Beach Pool Villa, the Lagoon Pool Villa, or the Ocean Pool Villa, all of which come with a private pool, a sun deck and indoor-outdoor bathroom.
On describing its wellness concept, the Kagi Maldives Spa Island website states: “The objecive is to deliver an authentic, result, outcome and experienced focused service menu that is free of pretentiousness and puts customers needs at the absolute forefront.”
