US: Angevin & Co will launch its first hotel, The Frenchmen Hotel, in New Orleans on 1 February.
Robert Thompson, CEO of Angevin & Co., purchased the property in June 2021. Months later, a partnership was announced with Lark Hotels to reimagine the hotel and roll out additional projects.
All 27 rooms at The Frenchmen have been renovated, with features of the historic 1860s building left intact such as the original ceiling medallions.
Two on-property bar spaces include a mezzanine bar reserved for hotel guests and the new Midnight Revival, located on the lower level. Here, entertainment will involve nightly live music.
Thompson said: “It’s an incredible privilege to reopen one of the most beautiful boutique hotels in NOLA. I’ve been in love with New Orleans for a long time and moved my family here full-time last year. It’s a dream come true to dedicate the revival of The Frenchmen Hotel to the people and the place that’s meant so much to me. The spirit of this city makes you feel like the night is always young, and we want everyone – from first-time visitors to seasoned revellers – to manifest that magic each time they raise a glass in Midnight Revival.”
The hotel is located in the Marigny neighbourhood, one block away from Esplanade and the French Quarter.
Earlier this month, Thompson acquired the Whiney Hotel, also in New Orleans, for $17 million. The site is planned to reopen in early 2023.
