China: Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Anta Sports Products Co., have announced plans for a Fila House hotel in Shanghai.
The project marks the first Fila-branded hotel in the world and is set to open in 2024. It will join the JdV by Hyatt portfolio – a collection of independent properties around the world.
Fila is a global sports brand and in China, it is owned and managed by Anta. The hotel is set to form part of Anta’s new headquarters in the city’s West Hongqiao Business District.
Housed across five separate buildings, the complex will also comprise shops and food and beverage venues.
Brian Yiu, CEO of Fila China, said: “We are excited to be collaborating with Hyatt on the world’s first Fila-branded lifestyle hotel. Not only will the hotel be a unique expression of [the sport brand’s] history, culture, products and fashion trends, we believe that the young-at-heart JdV by Hyatt brand experience will be a fitting reflection of Fila’s spirit of vitality.”
Stephen Ho, president of growth and operations, Asia Pacific for Hyatt, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Anta Group and Fila China to develop [the brand’s first] hotel in the world. We look forward to welcoming guests, locals and a new generation of Fila fans with the JdV by Hyatt brand’s inclusive, heartfelt and joy-driven service.”
Hyatt added JdV to its portfolio when the group acquired Two Roads Hospitality in 2018. JdV by Hyatt features around 20 hotels across North America, China and Europe.
In February this year, Hyatt announced plans to develop the first Hello Kitty Hotel in Santa, Hainan.
