UK: Urban wellness brand Inhabit Hotels has secured B Corporation status for its flagship property in London, Inhabit Southwick Street.

Inhabit Southwick Street first opened in 2019 as the debut property from Inhabit Hotels, with Inhabit Queen’s Garden following in 2022. The brand has outlined the ambition to achieve B Corp status from the beginning and has worked to improve its business model across five areas: customers, community, environment, workers and governance.

At the hotel on Southwick Street, Inhabit has partnered with brands such as Aerende to purchase cushion covers supporting mental health projects, Goldfinger which educates disadvantaged young people on woodwork to produce bespoke furniture items, and natural skincare brand GAIA for treatments in the spa.

Steps have also been taken to reduce the environmental impact of operations, such as moving to 100 per cent LED lighting and using 50 per cent renewable energy.

Nadira and Rahim Lalji, co-founders of Inhabit Hotels, said: “This is a huge milestone for Inhabit and our rst property, further strengthening our vision to be a brand that strives for change for good. We believe in enhancing green initiatives, reducing consumption levels and being a responsible business for all stakeholders. is latest impact report and certification from B Corp is just the beginning. It is a huge achievement to join the community with over 6,500 other like-minded brands and be part of this crucial movement.”

Details about the brand’s green initiatives have been included in its B Corp Impact Assessment on Energy and Carbon. Further information here.
