US: Marriott International’s Autograph Collection Hotels has announced the opening of Hi-Lo Hotel in Oregon.
Situated in the historic Oregon Pioneer Building in downtown Portland, the boutique hotel is the brand’s first hotel in Oregon.
Built in 1910, the Oregon Pioneer Building – originally named The Railway Express Building – was the city’s first concrete building, which became known as Project Cinderella when it was revived in 1962, serving as a catalyst to restore historic buildings in downtown.
The hotel features 120 guest rooms and suites, with modern furnishings and local handcrafted bathroom amenities by Maak Lab featuring a custom scent designed exclusively for Hi-Lo Hotel.
The hotel’s restaurant, Alto-Bajo, will serve modern Mexican food. Helmed by chef Chip Barnes, the restaurant features a menu developed in collaboration with Oaxacan chef Iliana de la Vega.
Features include complimentary Wi-Fi, mobile check-in, in-room entertainment systems outfitted with Netflix and a variety of apps, daily newspaper delivery, and a 24-hour fitness centre.
