UK: Family-owned Irish hotel group The Address Collective has added a luxury boutique hotel in Glasgow City Centre to its portfolio.
Housed in a listed building originally designed for Lancashire Insurance Company, the Glasgow site will undergo a £9 million renovation before reopening in early 2024 under The Address Collective brand.
When complete, the six-storey hotel will offer 94 bedrooms, a wellness spa with a gym, plunge pool, heated loungers and a Himalayan salt rock sauna, meeting rooms, and an all-day dining venue and cocktail bar.
It marks the first Scottish property for the group and the fifth location.
Brian McGettigan of The Address Collective said: “Our commitment to the city of Glasgow goes beyond hospitality. We’re creating over 80 jobs and investing in the local community because we believe in the bright future of this dynamic city. We’ve chosen Glasgow because we love the people, the culture and can’t wait to raise the bar for luxury stays in Scotland.”
The Address Glasgow joins two Address Collective hotels in Dublin, one in Cork, and one to launch in Sligo in March 2024.
Future hotels under development include the 90-key Address Capel Street opening in Dublin early 2025.
Over the past three years, the group has invested around £60 million in upgrading existing properties including both Dublin hotels, the property in Cork, as well as the acquisition and build of the upcoming hotel on Capel Street, Dublin.
