UK: A regional Turkish restaurant will open at Grosvenor House
A regional Turkish restaurant, which originated in Dubai, is set to launch at Grosvenor House in London.
Rüya will operate on the site of a bank building adjacent to the hotel’s Corrigan Mayfair restaurant. Rüya originally launched in Dubai in 2016 at the Grosvenor House hotel, which operates under Marriott’s Luxury Collection brand. The concept was created by Umut Özkanca, who is originally from Istanbul.
The 130-cover restaurant will specialise in food from the Anatolian region of Turkey. This is the first overseas expansion for the brand. Colin Clague will act as chef-patron. He was previously executive chef of Zuma London and Dubai, opening head chef of Jason Atherton’s Pollen in Singapore and executive chef of Caprice Holdings.
The new restaurant joins an eclectic range of food and beverage outlets at the hotel. They include JW Steakhouse, the Park Room, Red bar and Bourbon bar as well as Corrigan Mayfair, operated by Richard Corrigan.
Rüya will be designed by Conran and Partners, which was also the firm behind the Dubai site.
