US: Avocet Hospitality Group has acquired the 19-room Anchorage Inn in Charleston, South Carolina, its third property in the city.

The Anchorage Inn is a 19-room hotel at 26 Vendue Range in downtown Charleston. Originally built as a cotton warehouse in the mid-1840s, it opened as a bed-and-breakfast in 1991.

Charleston-based Avocet also owns and manages the Vendue Inn, a 66-room boutique hotel in the downtown area that was acquired late last year, and the 132-room Tides Folly Beach on Folly Beach.

Avocet Hospitality Group president Jonathan Weitz said: “The Anchorage Inn is a beautiful and well-maintained property. We’re happy to welcome it to our growing family of brands.”

In addition to its hotel portfolio, Avocet Hospitality Group also owns and operates St. Barth Exclusives, a vacation rental company with more than 190 properties on the island of St. Barthelemy. It also manages more than 175 vacation homes on Folly Beach through Avocet Properties.
