UK: Soho House is set to open its first hotel in the north of England.

The group, which operates hotels and private members clubs across the UK, US and Europe, will open a hotel in Manchester’s Old Granada Studios, as part of Allied London’s £1.2 billion regeneration of a 25-acre Quay Street site.

Planning permission was granted in October for the Levitt Bernstein Associates designed hotel, which will feature 150 bedrooms and the city’s first rooftop swimming pool. Other features include a top floor club, a media workspace studio and suites, a private cinema, a live performance space, bars and restaurants.

It is believed the Soho House site will also take over the space currently occupied by Granada TV’s Studio 4 where The Beatles made their first live TV performance on October 17, 1962.
