Spain: Wojo – a co-working site by Accor – first launched five years ago, and Barcelona is its second European destination.
Wojo will solely occupy the Sancho de Avila 65 office building in the 22@ business district.
Other companies in the district include Amazon, eBay, and Facebook.
Built by Conren Tramway and owned by Amundi, the 8,305 square-meter lease will make Wojo an immediate key player in the Spanish co-working sector.
“Our ambition is to be the leading player in “workspitality” by developing, all over the world, a large network of places to create unique work experiences with a full range of services, designed to be pleasant, to encourage performance, and to bring talents together,” said Stéphane Benismon, CEO of Wojo.
“This first step accomplished in Spain represents the fulfilment and assertion of this ambition. Wojo is exporting its “French touch” to Barcelona and is becoming a French co-working player on the international stage, which makes us particularly proud,” Benismon remarked.
Wojo is a joint venture with Bouygues Immobilier and Accor. Today, there are 8 Wojo sites in Paris and 2 in Lyons, hosting more than 5,000 members.
An expected 300 addresses will be rolled out by Wojo by the end of 2019, aiming to reach 1,200 addresses in Europe by 2022.
