Germany: The Dean has opened The Dean Munich, a 281-room lifestyle hotel in the city’s Westend neighbourhood, marking the brand’s largest property to date and its second opening in Germany.
The hotel includes three bars, a contemporary Japanese restaurant called Ibasho, and Power, The Dean’s fitness and wellness concept. Power offers an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, treatment room, group fitness classes, and recovery facilities.
Also on site is The City Beneath the City, an art programme curated by Christian Ganzenberg. The programme features Munich-based contemporary artists whose work is featured across the lobby, hallways, public areas and guest rooms.
Tatjana von Stein was responsible for the design of the hotel’s public areas, inspired by the history of Art Nouveau in Munich and the city’s 1980s nightlife. She said: “This is a city rooted in history but always drawn to reinvention. The design also brings to life a side of Munich only locals truly know: its rich musical and cultural spirit, quietly woven into the character of the city.’’
Guest rooms feature a softer design, with green tones, smart technology and room categories ranging from Standard Rooms to The Dean Suite and The Penthouse Suite.
The Dean Munich joins The Dean Berlin in Germany, which opened in February 2026. The wider portfolio includes hotels in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Berlin and Munich, with plans for a hotel in Miami.
