UK: London-based private equity firm Blantyre Capital has put its 10-property Crerar Hotel portfolio up for sale.

Savills has been appointed to sell the portfolio, which consists of: Dunkeld House Hotel, Oban Bay Hotel, Fonab Castle, Golf View Hotel and Spa, Loch Fyne Hotel and Spa, Isle of Mull Hotel and Spa, Balmoral Arms, Glencoe Inn, Thainstone House, and Daffodil Hotel and Spa.

The total collection comprises 589 rooms. The properties are being offered for sale either as a whole portfolio, sub-portfolios, or individual assets.

Steven Fyfe, director, hotel capital markets at Savills, said: “The Crerar hotels portfolio represents a rare opportunity to acquire a substantial portfolio of luxury country house hotels in some of the UK’s most sought-after destinations. The portfolio combines high-quality assets, an established operating platform and a robust income stream with clear potential to drive further performance through targeted investment.”

Blantyre Capital and operating partner Fairtree Hotel Investments took control of Crerar Hotel Group in March 2023. Blantyre and Fairtree already owned Fonab Castle, Dunkeld House and the Daffodil.

Since then, a refurbishment programme has rolled out across some of the hotels, including a £150,000 investment in the health club at Thainstone House.

Last year in 2025, Crerar Hotels secured £40 million refinancing with HSBC UK, focussed on supporting future growth.
