US: The 48-room boutique hotel Alsace LA, located in the West Adams neighbourhood of Los Angeles is set to open on 20 September.

Designed by NMDA Architects, the purpose-built hotel features a pool, 24-hour fitness centre, and a restaurant scheduled to open this winter. Chef Danny Elmaleh will serve a Japanese-inspired menu, and the venue will provide indoor and outdoor seating.

Interiors were overseen by Home Studios. LA artist Lukas Geronimas Giniotis, whose work is found throughout the hotel, has created a hand-painted mural behind the reception desk.

Rooms come with custom designs by Home Studios, including headboard panels and wardrobes. Larger suites offer private balconies or terraces as well as dining tables and pull-out sofas.

A meeting room and conference table with seating for 12 people is also available.

“With an emphasis on the unexpected, the hotel is truly a one-of-a-kind space, made culturally relevant with contemporary art, photography, and playful design details that incorporate subtle references to European antiquity by way of local craft,” said Home Studios.

In a statement from Alsace LA, it said: “Newcomer buzz has traditionally been reserved for the unofficial hubs of Los Angeles: DTLA, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, and Santa Monica. West Adams’ historic and diverse creative community is a rare environment that permeates the neighbourhood’s nightlife, dining, art, and music scene that is seldom found elsewhere in the LA area. Alsace LA is a new way to experience Los Angeles while also having easy access to the city’s other popular attractions.”
