Italy: Bulgari Hotels and Resorts is set to open its first property in Rome, located in the city’s Campo Marzio neighbourhood and scheduled for 2022.

The Roman hotel will be housed in a 1930s building, and Italian architectural firm Antonia Citterio Patricia Viel will transform the site into a 100-room luxury property.

Majority of the rooms will be suites, and the in-house restaurant and bar will be situated on the top floor, led by Michelin-starred chef Niko Romito. Other facilitates include an indoor swimming pool and gym.

“We are particularly proud to have secured such an extraordinary location for the new Bulgari Hotel in Rome,” said Bulgari CEO Jean-Christophe Babin. “This hotel represents a remarkable achievement for Bulgari that will finally have its own ‘temple’ right in the city where the company was founded and that still represents nowadays the beating heart of the brand. It will be by far Rome’s most luxurious hospitality experience ever.”

Bulgari Hotels and Resorts launched in 2001 as a joint venture between the Italian jewellery house Bulgari and hotel group Marriott International.

The brand debuted in Milan in 2004 and has since opened in locations such as Bali, London, Dubai, Shanghai and Beijing. Properties in Paris, Moscow and Tokyo are set to be added by 2023.
