US: The 20-storey citizenM Miami Brickell marks the first of two branded properties set to open in Miami.
Comprising 252 rooms, citizenM Miami Brickell hosted an “Open Art Call” where over 70 artists submitted works inspired by Miami to be permanently featured within the guest rooms and citizenM Miami World Center (opening late 2022). Only 10 were selected.
Commissioned artists Theresa Chromati and Lakwena Maciver created pieces for the communal spaces. Jen Stark, a Miami local, has deigned the facade of the building using five piece of artwork to create one composition.
Amenities at the property include a 24/7 canteenM, eight meeting rooms, two terraces each overlooking Miami Avenue and a garden, and the brand’s first rooftop pool.
Guest rooms come equipped with XL king-sized bed, power showers, an HD TV with streaming capabilities, and a MoodPad to control temperature, lighting and entertainment. These feature can be accessed via a guest’ smartphone.
Robin Chadha, chief marketing officer at citizenM, said: “We’re thrilled to be opening the first of two citizenM hotels planned in Miami this year. With Jen Stark’s striking facade artwork and the interior curated with a selection of works from artists celebrating Miami’s diverse and vivacious spirit, we are excited to be able to provide guests with an unparalleled and culturally robust experience, making this property a landmark in Miami’s Brickell neighbourhood.”
citizenM Miami Brickell joins the group’s existing US locations including Boston, New York, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington DC. The US portfolio totals nine across the country and 27 worldwide.
