US: The 80-suite luxury boutique hotel from Inherit Hotel Group has opened on Austin’s South Congress Avenue.
The property is owned, operated and developed by David and Simona Krug, the husband and wide duo behind Inherit Hotel Group. Colton House Hotel was designed by Austin-based LEVY Architects with interiors by TROO Designs.
The suites range in size from studios, one, two and three-bedrooms. They all come equipped with a full kitchen or kitchenette, living room, and many include in-room washers and dryers.
Opening later in January is Simona’s Coffee + Cocktail Bar. The venue has partnered with local restaurants and caterers, and guests can enjoy food and drinks either in the bar or upstairs in The Parlour. The Club Room is a casual area with a dedicated kids corner.
Located on the second floor is the Fitness Centre, providing Peloton bikes, gym equipment and a full yoga studio.
An outdoor space, The Backyard, spans 5000 square-feet and has been designed around three 80-year-old oak trees. It contains a deck with fire pits that lead onto The Lawn, an open area for activities. A heated outdoor swimming pool will open in spring with full service and private cabanas.
Overlooking the outdoor area is the Penthouse event space which is connected to a rooftop terrace. Other meeting areas include The Library with capacity up to 16 people.
“We’re introducing a brand new hotel category to Austin with an all-suite based model that blends the perks of an Airbnb stay with modern hotel amenities,” said David Krug, president of Inherit Hotel Group. “Colton House Hotel’s residential approach combines ample space and comfortable luxury for small groups, families and remote workers seeking more flexibility and personalisation in today’s world.”
Inherit Hotel Group is now overseeing two properties, having opened The Guesthouse Hotel in Chicago in 2014. The Krug’s oversee the operations, development and design of each property, with partners Martin Quander handling revenue management and Jon Michelson in charge of consumer marketing. The group plans to continue expanding to other cities.
