Hungary: Pest-Buda, the oldest hotel in in Hungary, has reopened after renovation as a 10-bedroom luxury boutique hotel.
Originally opened in 1696, the hotel is located in the Buda Castle district, the historic heart of the Hungarian capital. Pest-Buda offers four different room types – courtyard room, simple room, suite and atelier suite.
Interior designer Tibor Somlai was commissioned to give the property a “casual-classical Hungarian bistro and rustic luxury boutique hotel” style.
Marketing material and graphic design is by Géza Ipacs, most famous for the wine labels he created for some of Hungary’s most celebrated winemakers.
Menus have been created by Zsolt Litauszki, creative chef of Pierrot, 21 Hungarian Kitchen, Baltazar, and ÉS Bistro. Highlights include “the perfect artisanal flamed pie”.
