Italy: Scheduled to open in July 2021, Mama Roma will be located in the Prati district and will be the first property under the Mama Shelter brand to launch Mama Baths.
Situated on the bank of the Tiber river, Mama Roma will feature 217 rooms spread over six floors. All rooms will come with a king size bed, 55” smart TV and organic bath products in collaboration with Absolution.
The brand’s first ever spa will also launch at the hotel, home to an indoor swimming pool, sauna, hammam room and fitness centre.
Roman cuisine will feature in Mama Roma’s restaurants, including wood oven pizzas as well as international dishes. The dining outlets, complete with communal tables, will be open to the public through a separate access.
Two Ateliers (meeting spaces with capacity for 50 people) come equipped with video conferencing, LED screens and BOSE speakers, as well as a minibar and coffee machine. The “Breakroom” will feature a table-football and outdoor space to play ping pong and bocce.
On the rooftop, open from morning to late at night, there will be a solarium with island bar serving cocktails and beer along with a hot kiosk for snacks and light meals.

Mama Roma will be located next to the Vatican and only three metro stops from the historical city centre. All aspects of our identity will be found in this Mama: the restaurants, the rooftop, the designed bedrooms, the colourful lobby and in addition: a spa and its indoor swimming pool. We have added a library to offer our customers a sample of the most magical Italian literature and art.”
Mama Shelter first launched in 2008 with its first location in Paris. Since then, the brand has developed to include Marseille, Lyon, Bordeaux, Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro, Prague, Belgrade, Toulouse, Lille, London, West Paris, and Luxembourg. Upcoming openings include Bahrain, Dubai, Lisbon, Paris La Défense and more.
In 2014, Accor partnered with Mama Shelter to expand the concept worldwide.
