Marriott opens first AC Hotel in Germany

Germany: AC Hotels by Marriott has opened a 58-room hotel in Mainz

It is the brand’s first property in Germany, joining its global portfolio of more than 100 design-led hotels located in Brazil, Denmark, France, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, the UK and the US.

Following a recent renovation, the historic building in the city centre has been transformed into a 58-room hotel with contemporary design by Dutch interior designer Helge Docters van Leeuwen.

“We are delighted to welcome our first AC Hotels by Marriott property in Germany,” said John Licence, VP premium and select brands Europe, Marriott International. “As our portfolio expands, we continue to seek design-driven properties that offer our creative and entrepreneurial guests distinctive architecture and thoughtful design that is both affordable and accessible, and this hotel is a perfect example of that.”

Located by the Mainz Central Station, the hotel features the Adam & Eden restaurant and bar with a French-style bistro menu from chef Christian Höhn.

Collaborations with local artists and businesses include a menu featuring local breads, pastries, and beer and wine, with hotel associates’ uniforms designed by fashion designer Anja Gockel, who lives in Mainz.
