UK: Hotel brand Inhabit has opened London’s first mindfulness boutique hotel in Paddington.

Set across six Georgian townhouses, the hotel has banned all single-use plastics and is decorated with ethical furniture from Goldfinger Factory.

Designed by architects Holland Harvey and interior designer Caitlin Henderson Design, the hotel combines “Scandinavian design with traditional British heritage and touches of Eastern flair.”

In each of the 89 rooms, beds are topped with eco-friendly VOC-free mattresses from Casper, and bathrooms are stocked with sustainably sourced, bio-active ingredients from Ren.

Inhabit co-founder, Nadira Lalji, said: “Wellness and mindfulness are at the heart of Inhabit. Inspired to create a restorative experience in a frenetic city, every aspect of the hotel is aligned with what being well and balanced means to us.”

Air filtration systems from Airlabs have been installed in public areas, and a meditation pod at reception is available for guests to experience five-to-six minutes of guided sessions, led by positive psychology coach Mercedes Sieff who is the founder of Devon-based healthy lifestyle retreat Yeotown.

The hotel’s café, which focuses on plant-based cuisine, is also supplied with food and drink from Yeotown. And from partnering with food-wastage apps like Karma and Too Good to Go, Inhabit can sell food that would otherwise be thrown away at a reduced price during a daily happy hour.

Additional amenities include two Tokyo bikes that are available to hire. Similarly, the hotel offers two indoor Pelotan bikes with live fitness classes streamed to built-in screens.

“The hotel will offer a refreshing a new take on travel in London at an accessible price,” Lalji added.

Set to open September 1st, Inhabit will introduce a two-storey, green-walled atrium, a pantry, a gym and library.
