Philippines: The Cocoon Boutique Hotel in Barangay Laging Handa, Quezon City, is inviting guests to be as environmentally responsible as possible.
“Our new exciting project stands out not only for its stylish, deluxe boutique hotel amenities, but also for its serious advocacy,” said hotel consultant Annie R. Convocar, who added that the hotel recently opened its doors to pioneering guests who share the hotel’s “commitment for environmentally sustainable luxury”.
Among the measures the hotel has undertaken are using reclaimed wood for art pieces; a rain and ground water harvesting facility for toilet flushing, plant irrigation and general house cleaning; 100 per cent LED lighting; and recycled metal and wood in its construction.
“These are determined efforts to give significant contributions to save the environment,” Convocar said, adding that the hotel is also committed to be a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified.
